During your winter break in December of 2022, join teachers in an authentic cultural immersion trip in capital city of Madrid, Spain. Famous for its museums, tapas, history and architecture. Come visit the Prado, one of the largest museums in the world, and the Royal Palace and sleep in the historic centre of Madrid, in a baroque building, the most iconic square in the city. We will also learn about a famous teacher Beatriz Galindo, who transcended her time, was known to be of great intelligence and was affectionately called “La Latina.”
Madrid is a city with a life of its own, where there is Spanish music, food and people. Visit Puerta del Sol square, the Royal Palace, Madrid Cathedral or the iconic El Rastro flea market. See the Paseo del Arte, where you’ll find the main museums such as the Prado, Reina Sofía, and Thyssen.
Join us as we also travel to the town of Segovia to explore Spain’s most impressive castle, the 14th Century Alcazar while also visiting the Gothic Cathedral constructed of beautiful golden stone containing twenty three elaborately decorated chapels.
With a history of renowned masterpieces, divine food and wine, swirling Flamenco dancers and exhilarating outdoor activities, come immerse yourself in the Spanish culture that delights and excites in unforgettable ways.

Register by choosing a package below. Space is limited. The deposit to book is $350. Balance is paid in monthly installments or can be fully customized for you.

Once your registration is complete, you will receive an invite to login to your online account / community (or for quicker access, click ‘Login’ on top right of our website). Our exclusive TWL community is where you will attend fun virtual events and also meet your fellow teacher travelers!

Plan Your Program
Accommodations and In-country transportation is included in all packages. We’ll send you instructions on obtaining your travel insurance. You’ll book your own flights (see FAQs) but we can hold your hand and help you choose the best flight!

We'll keep you in the loop on what to bring, helpful resources, monthly tips + tricks, and any other fun updates between registration and our TWL program trip finally begins!

Breakfast is included every single day of your stay.
Cultural Spanish Celebration Dinner
Towards the end of the trip we will have a cultural celebration dinner with Flamenco dancers included with package. Lunches during trip and other dinners, not included.

Orientation and meet your leaders and fellow travelers.
Ground Transportation
Any Group Ground Transportation in Spain with the group, including Airport pickup/drop-off --Does not include Ubers or Taxis.

Itinerary
Day 1: December 17 - Overnight in Madrid
Welcome to Madrid, the capital city of Spain. Arrive and transfer to your hotel The Pestana, located in the heart of Madrid in the famous Plaza Mayor.

Day 2: December 18 - Overnight in Madrid
Breakfast at hotel
Famous El Rastro market, a social gathering place for madrileños. We will stroll the market like the locals do! El Rastro is arguably the most important flea market in all of Europe!
Sightseeing and walking tour in the historic neighborhoods of, La Latina. The most colourful and traditional side of Madrid named after Beatriz Galindo, a teacher who was affectionately called “La Latina”
Walking tour of Lavapies. The architecture, art and views will be awesome.
Day 3: December 19 - Overnight in Madrid

Day 4: December 20 - Overnight in Madrid
Early breakfast at hotel
75 minute drive to Segovia
Full day Segovia tour with guide. Walk along the streets of this medieval town. Segovia is a picturesque old walled city filled with fortresses, churches and palaces. We will visit the Gothic Cathedral, the 14th century Alcazar Castle and the Roman aqueduct, built in the first century and is one of the finest still in existence and operational.
Lunch included
Evening free in Madrid for exploring the famous christmas market in the plaza.
Day 5: December 21 - Overnight in Madrid - Free Day

Second breakfast/snack at famous Chocolateria San Ginés.
Short visit to the “exhibition analyses diversity” that immerses us into the Madrid of today.
Lunch at local wednesday hotspot “montera”.
