Nancy Ynchaustegui | TWL Community Rep, Speaker, Science Educator

Nancy is a veteran middle school science teacher but her students say she is “the teacher of everything” because she incorporates and is passionate about all subjects. While she fosters budding scientists, she sees them as people first and encourages them to be lifelong learners and global citizens.

Nancy was named Governor Educator of the Year for 2019-2020 and regularly presents at conferences such as the e2e Teacher Conferences and the Teacher Self-Care Conferences, as well summits and podcasts. Last year, she was selected as an ambassador for her state Union’s Members of Color Initiative where she held workshops and discussions for members.

When she’s not teaching, you can find her on a plane, on the dance floor, or spending time with her family. She also has a business, The Deviant Teacher, that grew from her desire to empower fellow educators to prioritize their physical and mental health.
