In July of 2023, join Nadia Lopez, Tiffany Jewell, Taina Benitez and a small group of teachers in an authentic cultural immersion trip to Switzerland with its shimmering, gatorade blue waters and white capped Swiss mountains. Switzerland is a country that truly inspires awe and nurtures the soul. From gorgeous Lake Lucerne, thought to be the inspiration for Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata," to the jaw-dropping Swiss Alps. The country's natural wonders are, indeed, wonders.
Magnificent views are everywhere you look. But Switzerland is more than beauty. Its storied history is evident in the ancient ramparts and medieval Hofkirche in Lucerne and in Bern's 5th-century gothic cathedral. It’s also visible in the 1,000 year old public school that we will be visiting and walking in the same historic halls as the famous former teacher, Friedrich Nietzsche, and where the greatest mathematician Leonhard Euler (the inventor of the number e for logs) once was a pupil. Let us immerse you in a Swiss culture that intrigues and delights in unforgettable ways.

You’ll get a copy of Nadia Lopez’s ebook The Bridge to Brilliance: How One Woman and One Community Are Inspiring the World and a copy of Tiffany Jewell’s New York Times Bestseller, This Book is Anti-Racist ebook. The Teach With Love culturally informed principles will be woven into our entire approach for the trip. Our theme and vibe will be to “seek patience and passion” (Maya Angelou) being present in each experience where we will model what it looks like to build community and trust, in a sustainable way. On this trip you will be building knowledge and sharing knowledge while finding practices that allow you to have professional breakthroughs and establishing meaningful relationships with educators around the world that you can lean on and stay connected with. This trip is also about you choosing you and learning the developing practices for rest, seeking help and learning from others.

Plan Your Program
Accommodations and In-country transportation is included in all packages. We’ll send you instructions on obtaining your travel insurance. You’ll book your own flights (see FAQs) but we can hold your hand and help you choose the best flight!

We'll keep you in the loop on what to bring, helpful resources, monthly tips + tricks, and any other fun updates between registration and our TWL program trip finally begins!

100% of proceeds go to helping our (women and BIPOC owned) organization’s mission to elevate underserved teachers by developing new leadership where none existed and to give opportunities to underserved students to travel the world. We’re funded through sponsors and this Teacher Travel Community that serves ALL teachers of all Races, Ethnicities, Genders, etc.(see our TWL mission for more info.)

Itinerary
Day 1: July 6 - Overnight in Zurich
Welcome to Zurich, Switzerland! Stay one night at Airport Hotel.
Welcome Orientation (day is subject to change)
Day 2: July 7 - Overnight in Berne
Leave to Berne, the beautiful drive will take your breathe away. Check in to your Historic Hotel located in the heart of Berne.
Visiting a 1,000 year old Public School in Basel.
Day 3: July 8 - Overnight in Berne
Full Day filled with Swiss Cheese and Swiss Chocolate!
Easy Hike on an Alp visiting a family home surrounded by a view straight out of the film “The Sound of Music” and watch the local family make Swiss Cheese from their kitchen.
Visit Cailler Chocolate Factory
Day 4: July 9 - Overnight in Berne
Sightseeing city walking tour with our exclusive Swiss TWL partner. Tasting chocolate, Berne-Beer, Best Swiss Ice Cream, Rosengarden, hike along torquiest river
Tour of a 17th Century Flour Mill (they provided the flour used for President Obama’s inaugural celebration cake and breads, as a gift!)
Cultural Teach With Love Celebration Dinner. Home-cooked meal by our friends in Switzerland. We will be hosted in their home with a true Swiss family meal!
Day 5: July 10 - Overnight in Berne
Site seeing in Lucerne. Voted one of the most stylish medieval cities known for its majestic lake, its historic buildings & murals and shopping area filled with food and culture.
