Booking FAQs

+ ARE THESE TRIPS OR PROGRAMS? (short version)

These are Programs. Our organization specializes in International Educational Programs, focusing on collaborative learning and transformative experiences for Educators and Educational Leaders. Our goal is to enhance cultural intelligence and effectiveness in their roles. We prioritize educational value over luxury, ensuring a meaningful impact in their work and leadership. #LearningOverLuxury

+ WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS PROGRAM? (long version)

This program is recommended for educators, allies and lovers of education who want to learn and grow from each other, while traveling the world. This program is not recommended for non-allies or educators that are just looking for group travel. We are not a "tour" company and not a travel agency; we're an international education program. Our program is an inclusive educational initiative committed to raising diverse voices. While Tour companies, predominantly owned by white males, offer touristic experiences, we, a BIPOC owned organization, focus on creating a culturally rich learning environment that values every voice. We also do not create generalized professional learning offerings aimed at profits, we have a distinct intention - to adhere to our L.O.V.E. core values: Lift Others' Voices Everyday. It would be a mismatch to equate an unaccredited event with a respected event like ours, graced by the likes of Dr. Nadia Lopez, NY Times Best Selling author, Tiffany Jewell, Award-winning ABAR educators, Lorena and Roberto Germán, and Learning for Justice's Award for Excellence recipient and author Liz Kleinrock and other awarding-winning BIPOC educators focused on Cultural Inclusion, Equity and Diversity in education. Our aim at Teach With Love™️ isn't profitability but to infuse PURPOSE in education.

✋🏾 🎤 💜

We are a Teacher Community that offer services, like our Teach to Lead Program, that elevate our underrepresented educators in this industry. These programs are funded through the proceeds from our programs where we learn Culturally Informed Practices. (Click programs above) ♥️ If you are an ally in education than you are welcome to join us. Since our program themes and focus is always around education, building community and fellowship and doing things throughout the program TOGETHER....this program is not recommended for non-allies or non-educators or educators that are just looking for a Tour or group travel company. All adult travelers must allow a background check, for the safety of our teachers and students.

We represent the global majority and offer immersive cultural programs for teachers, leaders and activists, who align with our mission and the missions of our leaders. We are not a large corporation and we are made up of mostly volunteers and heart-centered social justice allies. We also only use small local businesses in our travels as part of that mission and we respect their wishes (for example, if they require a covid vaccine to use their services.)

Our values, our mission, does not align with some and that is okay with us. We will not accept or tolerate any hate mail/emails, racism, sexism, hate speech, rude comments, rude communication, nor any prejudism against personal identities, sexual orientations, religions or faith.

WHO WE ARE: 100% Inclusive, advocates, lifelong learners, lovers of culture, opportunity providers, antiracist + anti-bias, perspective expanders, women + BIPOC owned, problem solvers + figure outers

+ IS THIS EXPERIENCE JUST FOR EDUCATORS?

Since we are an International Education Program, this program is recommended for educators, allies and lovers of educators who want to learn and grow from each other, while traveling the world. This program is not recommended for non-allies or non-educators that are just looking for group travel. We are not a Tour Company and not a travel agency. We are a Teacher Community that offers programs to elevate and educate our underserved teachers and allies of education. These programs are funded through the proceeds from our global programs where we learn Culturally Informed Practices. (Click programs above) If you are an ally. Since our program themes and focus is always around education, building community and fellowship and doing things throughout the program TOGETHER....this program is not recommended for non-allies or non-educators or educators that are just looking for a group travel company. All adult travelers must allow a background check, for the safety of our teachers and students. Spouses do not traditionally attend as this program is focused on building community and fellowship and doing things throughout the program TOGETHER, not apart.

+ I AM ATTENDING WITH A EDUCATOR FRIEND(S), SHOULD WE BOOK ALL TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY TO ENSURE THAT WE ROOM TOGETHER?

Book individually. On the registration form there is a place to put roommate choice. We will take care of you. If not attending solo, we just ask that you stay open for new friendships and be sure to make new meaningful friendships too, as we at TWL try to make every educators feel included.

+ WHAT SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES DO YOU DO ON A PROGRAM?

Each program is focused on building community and fellowship and doing things throughout the program TOGETHER, not apart. Since each culture and country is different, so are our activities on each program. To see what we are doing in a specific country, please click on "Programs" link above.

+ WHAT ARE THE AGES AND DEMOGRAPHICS OF EDUCATORS WHO TRAVEL WITH YOU?

Our educators are from all over the world. We are a diverse BIPOC owned company and proud of our diverse community of teachers from all races, identities and Nationalities. They are 'usually' ages 25-55. But we do not have an age limit. We work hard to make our programs available and accessible to all. Our educators will book programs that they know they can handle the itinerary details listed in program before booking.

+ ARE COVID VACCINES REQUIRED? WHICH COUNTRY WILL I NEED VACCINES FOR?

As of today, all countries or local small business vendors we use still require a Covid Vaccination and proof of vaccination to either enter or do any of the activities on our itinerary. If not a country entry requirement, this is a requirement of the respective local vendors we use. As part of being culturally informed, we respect their decision. (With that said, we are not for everyone, please see "is this program right for me?" below.)

Not all countries need any other vaccinations. Please speak with your physician as to which vaccines you will need. It is different for everyone.

*We will update this question once our local small business vendors do not require a COVID vaccine.

+ ARE THE PROGRAMS "FORMAL" PD, DO WE VISIT SEVERAL SCHOOLS TO BE ABLE TO COMPARE AND DO RESEARCH?

The main aim of our L.O.V.E. framework is to foster a culturally informed education system that is inclusive, equitable, and empowering for all students. We were once told by a participant "This was the most impactful Professional Learning Community I have ever been a part of!" This involves continuous learning and adaptation, informed by the culturally different lived experiences of educators, leaders and community members. This approach is as rigorous and impactful as traditional methods, if not more so, as it challenges educators and educational leaders to critically examine and transform their own practices. Our L.O.V.E. framework (Lift Others Voices Everyday)™️ does not require school visits or formal research to be effective. Our focus is more on facilitating critical conversations, sharing experiences, and promoting self-reflection among educators.

With that said, only our Leadership Summits are formal professional development.

Our regular programs are Educational Cultural Experiences through a Professional Learning Community (PLC), not formal and meaningless PD. Particpants do receive a Professional Learning Certificate that can be submitted to your District (Check with your School District on their Professional Learning Policies.)

+ IF WE VISIT A PLACE WITH CHILDREN, CAN I POST PHOTOS/VIDEOS OF THE CHILDREN?

No. This is lesson one of learning and having Culturally Informed practices. Although you may have good intentions, we have other ways we can teach you how to raise awareness or just show the good work that is being done. As you know, we are a Minority-owned and run company and take this very seriously. Posting photos/videos of children, especially our beautiful melanin children, IS NOT ALLOWED. If you'd like to learn why this is "not okay," please read this article and their other articles about the White Savior Complex.

+ DO I NEED TO BE ACCEPTED OR APPLY TO ATTEND A PROGRAM?

No, we are completely inclusive! Check out our "is this program right for me" faq question for more info."

+ DOES THE DEPOSIT GO TOWARDS THE PROGRAM BALANCE?

Yes! Absolutely. Example if your program was 3499, your balance after deposit is 3149. You will receive a detailed invoice after payment plan has been setup. See below.

+ IS THERE A PAYMENT PLAN?

Yes! We have a payment plan (aka layaway). You begin with a $350 deposit to hold your spot. After we receive your deposit, you will automatically be set up on a monthly payment plan to be charged to your credit card monthly (you can change) with the final payment to be made 90 days prior to the program start date, unless you contact us to make other arrangements. We’re happy to make other arrangements, please contact us at contact@teachwithlove.com.

+ WHEN IS FINAL PAYMENT DUE?

Full Balance must be paid in full no less than 3 months before your program.

+ Does your organization offer international teaching positions or job placements abroad for educators?

A: No. Our educators do not go on our programs to try to get a teaching position in another country. It's important to note that our programs are not designed for job placements or teaching abroad but rather for the professional learning experiences and cultural enrichment of educators. We believe that by immersing oneself in diverse cultures, educators can transform their teaching practices to be more inclusive and culturally responsive, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and inclusive educational environment for all students.

+ IS MY PROGRAM REFUNDABLE?

HERE IS SUMMARY OF OUR CANCELLATION POLICY: Click here for the full Terms + Cancellation policy.

If you cancel your program before December 1st of the year prior to your program, you will receive any monies paid, less your deposit of $350, or you can choose a voucher for future program.

Any Refunds are to be arranged with and through your travel insurance only.

Yes and No. Book only if you plan on applying within the next four months of booking or at least 6 months before your program. Unfortunately, passports are out of our control, we do not give refunds to anyone that cannot travel due to not having a passport or VISA. Our advice, get the passport within three months of booking us or no later than 6 months before your program (unless you can expedite) and secure you VISA within 2 months of your program.

+ I JUST BOOKED, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Yay! Your confirmation email will have the next steps. Welcome to the TWL Community!

+ I AM NOW OFFICIALLY PART OF THE TWL COMMUNITY AND WOULD LOVE TO BRAG ABOUT TEACH WITH LOVE TO MY OWN FRIENDS AND FAMILY. HOW CAN I DO THAT? IS THERE A REFERRAL CREDIT PROGRAM?

Yes! TWL members will spread the news of our programs through social media, blogs, email, and telephone conversations. You’ll receive a $100 referral credit on all booked programs you have referred, so be sure they mention your name when we ask how they heard about us!

+ WHAT ABOUT THE FLIGHT?

We're glad you asked! We keep our costs lower for you by providing you the opportunity, and flexibility, to book your own flight. You can fly from anywhere in the world to our retreat destination and even use your frequent flier miles if you like! Within the TWL Community, you’ll be able to post your flight and find a flight buddy to join you if you’d like too!

+ HOW MUCH DO FLIGHTS COST? CAN YOU GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE?

Due to the vast amount of changes that can occur to increase or decrease airline prices, that are out of our foresight… we can never give you an estimate on price of flights. We can tell you what clients have paid in the past, but we can never guarantee or promise that it will be the same for the following year since it is completely out of our control. Please call airlines directly for estimate prices. Once you book, we have several live events hosted called "Tips and Tricks to save some coins on your next flight!" that you can attend and get some individualized help too!

+ WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

Breakfast is included and the Cultural Celebration Dinner is included. Most other meals are not included as our guests love to choose their own meals and not be stuck in a "meals package" so they can try out different cuisines or visit any restaurant of their choosing. Note - All-Inclusive Programs, like Jamaica, include ALL MEALS.

+ CAN I BRING MY SPOUSE, FRIEND, OR CHILD?

Each program is focused on building community and fellowship and doing things throughout the program TOGETHER, not apart. Therefore, since we are an educator community first, this program is recommended for allies and lovers of educators who want to learn and grow from each other while traveling the world. If you would like to bring a spouse, friend or child, they MUST be approved first (email contact@teachwithlove.com for pre-approval). They book separately as a "shared" booking and request you as a roommate. This program is also not recommended for non-allies nor non-educators that are just looking for a group travel agency. For the safety of our guests, any non-educators over the age of 18, will need a background check. We also have a special program planned for single mom educators! Email contact@teachwithlove.com for more info.

+ IF I AM ABLE TO BRING MY SPOUSE, FRIEND, OR CHILD, DO THEY GET A DISCOUNTED RATE?

Unfortunately, since our costs do not lower, the price is usually the same. Please inquire first before booking.
